Did you ever have any financial education in school? Were you taught how the financial institutions work, how the banks are profit driven and that it’s up to you to look after your own money? 

Of course not! It amazes me that we still do not teach our children the fundamentals of money, and yet we’re resigned to them going into huge debt to pay for university. Banks even have credit cards aimed at teenagers now! 

It’s not just the young, all through our adult lives, we ignore our financial situation. It’s like driving in the dark, we don’t know where we’re going, but we’re making great time!

In fact more people are only 1 paycheck away from disaster. What I mean is this, if you lost your income for some reason, would you have more than a month’s wages to fall back on? Most people don’t. We all live 1 paycheck away from disaster. 

Do you have a plan to get out of debt and move towards financial independence? 

Think about this, in 2006 1.9 million pensioners were forced back to work, and do you know who the biggest employers of over 65 years olds are? McDonalds.
