How do these people get away with it?

Found another great post on the fragile economy in the US, check out Jim Cramer’s latest rant from this morning. He’s completely on target, the banks and their corporate cronies are in it up to their necks! Under the (George W. Bush) SEC, these massive financial corporations — Merrill, Citi, etc. — are getting away with massive ”criminal levels of fraud”.

I am new to freedom of thought, free of the distortion of society, unfettered by marketing messages, and the propoganda that is overwhelming in today’s media. I started opening my mind about 10 years ago when I started thinking about how the government always tries to keep us living in fear from one threat or another.

Coming from Northern Ireland, I grew up with a terrorist threat, but it was never as bad as everyone I ever met in my travels around the world thought it was. Why? Because the media portrayed the skirmish in Northern Ireland as full on terror that happened daily and stopped people living their everyday lives.

Wasn’t like that, we went to school, we went to work, we socialised, we lived like everyone else in UK except that we had to submit to vehicle check points, random searches, internment without trial, no trial by jury. In other words a veritable police state.

Yes, there were bombs and people died, I am not trying to belittle that in any way. Coming as I do from the Protestant heritage I am appalled by the attempts now made to legitimise the IRA.

However, if the British government had at any time wanted to wipe out the IRA, they could have done, after all they had the might of a great nation, the intelligence, the arms, the resources to do so. So why didn’t they?

Same question could be asked of the American administration after 9/11, if they truly believed Bin Laden was to blame, rather than using him as an excuse to terrorise their own people and take away their freedoms, enslaving them even more.

When I moved to live in England, I was in more fear for my safety than I had ever been at home. Why? Because we were fed daily news stories about the dangers of gangs of feral black youths roaming the cities attacking people at random.

Once you become aware of the ploy you start to see more of it in the food scares, the annual threat of some killer flu or other, dangerous uncontrolled dogs, environmental crisis and the ultimate in terror threats now that the Irish have been neutralised.

Why keep us in a state of fear? So we can be controlled more easily. So we won’t think about what we have lost, the right to walk as free people.

I found a great video yesterday, The Magnificent Deception, a seminar given by Rob Menard, a Canadian.

I think the Canadians are way ahead in the freedom movement than any other nation. Make sure you’re sitting comfortably and have 2 hours to spare because once you start watching this man, you won’t be able to stop before the end.

Rob Menard is compelling, he has taken a personal tragedy and a travesty of justice and used it to propel himself forward and learn how to gain the right to walk as a free man amongst us. I salute him.
